Prepare your T-shirt printing brief

A clear branding brief helps a supplier understand the result you want. Bring your garment preferences, artwork and placement details together before asking for a quote.

Start with the garment and artwork

Choose a garment category from the catalogue and note your preferred colour, fit and quantities. Include the exact product reference if you are matching an existing item. The supplier should confirm the garment specifications before recommending a branding method.

Keep the original artwork file where possible. If you only have a photo or a small image, describe the intended result and ask whether the artwork needs preparation. File requirements should be confirmed for the selected production method.

Describe the placement

  • Where the design should appear: front, back, sleeve or another position.
  • The approximate width and height you have in mind.
  • Artwork colours and any colour-matching requirement.
  • Names, numbers or wording that change between garments.
  • A reference image, if it helps explain the result.

Discuss the branding method

Screen printing, embroidery and transfers are options to discuss. Ask the supplier which method suits the exact garment, design, quantity and intended use. Confirm that the chosen method is available and suitable before approving it.

Request a proof or sample where needed. Check the wording, spelling, placement and dimensions carefully, then ask how approval will be recorded.

Confirm the complete quote

Ask for garment costs, artwork preparation, setup and branding charges to be listed clearly. Confirm the currency, taxes, supplier details, island or destination, fulfilment arrangements and agreed timing.

Prepare your printing enquiry brief with these details. You can copy or download it for review and sharing; the planner does not send artwork or an enquiry to a supplier.
